ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - Lawrence Tynes sent home the largest regular-season crowd in NFL history muttering about what might've been.
Tynes kicked a 37-yard field goal as time expired, giving the New York Giants a 33-31 victory over the turnover-prone Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night and ruining the debut of their rival's $1.15 billion stadium.
A crowd of 105,121 saw the Cowboys (1-1) go ahead 31-30 on a touchdown run by Felix Jones with 3:40 left. It was the seventh lead change of a game in which neither team led by more than six points and it didn't last.
Eli Manning drove New York 56 yards in seven plays. He got out of a first-and-20 on his 15 to start it and converted two third downs, including one on a tipped pass caught by Mario Manningham. Tynes actually made the winning kick twice; Dallas called time just before the first one was snapped, so he had to do it again.
"Well, we just knew we had to go and get in field goal range," Manning said. "We had enough time, we had timeouts."
Former President George W. Bush, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and fans began filling Cowboys Stadium more than four hours before kickoff. Crossing the Finish Line
If you have already run a 5K or two, been walking/running for more than a few months and are capable of going for more than an hour you may be ready to undertake the ultimate athletic challenge: a marathon.
To be sure, there is no easy way to traverse 26.2 miles. But for those willing to put in the effort, what was once the realm of elite athletes is now open to runners and walkers of all levels and abilities.
"I decided to start training for a marathon after only about nine months of consistent running," says Shauna Staveley of Hartford, CT who ran the ING Hartford marathon. "I watched the Boston Marathon, and said to myself 'I'm tired of being mystified by marathon runners. What if the former heavy girl who couldn't run 1/3 of a mile, ran a 26.2 mile race?'"
The process can be life changing.
"It was the event that showed me that I could do anything," says Jennifer Hardaway of Los Angeles who ran the Honolulu marathon. "Since then I have started my own business. The marathon gave me a notch of self-esteem and courage to reach for my dreams."
Training Tips for Marathon Women
Ken Earley, a 12-time marathoner and an RRCA-certified running coach as well as a member of Weight Watchers, offers these tips:
Start slow. Then go slower,Jordan 7s.

For those who have not been regularly walking or exercising, McArdle suggests taking six months to walk/jog, trying a half marathon and then pushing it up to a full after that. New runners - especially those trying to lose weight - need to be careful that they don't lose too much weight too quickly. "It is important to monitor that you are continuing to lose weight at a healthy rate of no more than an average of two pounds per week and have the energy you need for undertaking this type of activity," says Stephanie Rost, MD, RD who is the director of corporate program development for Weight Watchers International.
"If you find that, as your activity is steadily increasing, you are losing weight too rapidly, and/or feeling hungry, monitor and swap your activity PointsPlus values that you are earning during your training sessions for food PointsPlus values and make sure to use your weekly PointsPlus Allowance," says Rost.
Fuel Your Fire
"I had to slightly alter the program to accommodate my training," says Jennifer Hereth of Columbus, OH, who completed her first marathon in 2005. "Typically we were advised not to consume more than six of our activity PointsPlus values in a given day, but on the days of long runs my body needed more to refuel. I tried to always track my PointsPlus values so I knew where I stood, but I gave myself a little more flexibility on the weekends when I would do my long runs and if I went over or used all my weekly PointsPlus values and then some, I knew it was what my body needed to replenish what I had burned."
Rost also encourages closely monitoring the Weight Watchers . "When in the earlier stages of training with runs that last an hour or less, eating a well-balanced diet and staying well hydrated is adequate," she says. "However, when your training extends beyond the hour mark, it becomes more important to choose foods before and during your run to maintain enough energy to last during 2-4 hours of running." Three to four hours before your run, continues Rost, "eat a carbohydrate-rich meal with a small amount of protein that is also lower in fat and fiber to help ensure optimal digestion." These might include:
Fruit + yogurt smoothie + low-fat granola
Low-fat cottage cheese + whole grain crackers + grapes
Tuna sandwich with low-fat mayo + fruit cup + fat-free yogurt
In addition, a marathoner needs:
Adequate hydration
Easily digested foods rich in carbohydrates
Done right, the experience can be powerful, says Hereth. Until I went to cheer on a friend, I thought you had to be six-feet-tall and shaped like a string bean to run a marathon. But you don't. So here's the whole story. This will be a long post because there's a lot to say, but we know you really want to know!
In March of 2011, after years of people telling us that we NEEDED to go up against the Dragons, we finally decided to take the plunge. So we hopped onto the CBC website, filled out an application, and within two days got a callback inviting us to come to Toronto to pitch to the Dragons two weeks later! Talk about pre-ordained. We not only skipped the entire audition process, but we nailed the application and they wanted us ON.
So after two solid weeks of furious prep work, we headed off to Toronto. Nerves were running SUPER high. We know we had the formula down, but would we lose our cool and forget everything we'd worked so hard to implant deeply in our brains when faced with the acid tongue of Kevin O'Leary?
As we stood on the platform waiting to descend the industrial staircase into the den, we were a collective mess. Amy was worried she might be sick on her shoes, and I was concerned about dropping Ione, who was wriggling like a fish in my arms. Our legs were shaking as we walked down those stairs, plastic smiles plastered on our faces.
And then we were there, IN the den,Altitude 13s, on the floor, being greeted by Jim, Kevin, Arlene, Bruce and Robert. They were so warm and huge smiles lit their faces when they saw us walk in with our babies. Our fears quickly left us, replaced by the confidence we had been carrying with us leading up to that moment.
And we OWNED that hour. The Dragons were firing questions at us left, right and centre. I heard my name from five different people over and over again and I'm sure my head was whipping back and forth like a ping pong. It felt just like being at home and dealing with our own children, and we were able to gain control and direct the barrage of questions. Did you see Jim's draw drop when we mentioned our sales? In fact, ALL the Dragons sat up at that moment to take notice because they quickly recognized us as the cloth diaper mavens we are!

Felted Wool Patchwork Quillow
From the moment we saw these gorgeous bundles of ten uniquely textured and hand dyed felted wools from Mary Flanagan, we knew we wanted to make a patchwork blanket with them. They seemed to be made just for this purpose since felted wool doesn't require hemming, plus it's very soft, warm and inviting. When we got our bundle home and began to design the quilt, we realized that we would only need nine of the ten pieces to make it, but we were determined to use all 10. It occurred to us that we could use the 10th piece to make a simple pocket on the back of the quilt into which the entire piece could be folded to make a pillow, and our quilt became a quillow! It was meant to be.
When your bundle arrives the pieces will not be perfectly cut. You will need to cut each piece to 12.5-inches x 15-inches (or smaller if your smallest piece isn't big enough) and you will also need to square each piece up while cutting it to this size.
Place the square grid ruler along the bottom edge of the short side of the wool piece with its left edge about 5-inches from the left edge of the piece of felt as shown above. Make sure the ruler is exactly straight against bottom edge of the felt. It doesn't matter what line you use on the ruler since you are just getting a straight line, not a measurement. (If none of the sides of the felt are straight you will need to cut all four sides).
Note: You will not be using the grid on your cutting mat to measure so it doesn't matter where you place the fabric in relation to that grid.
Place your 6.5-inch x 24.5-inch grid ruler vertically against the left edge of the square ruler being careful not to move the square ruler. Place your hand on the long ruler to anchor it and remove the square ruler.
Using your rotary cutter cut along the right side of the ruler. Your piece of wool is now squared up with the bottom edge of the wool (meaning it has been cut at a perfect 90 degree angle).
Repeat these steps on the other sides of wool in order to cut it to 12.5-inches x 15-inches. Repeat for the remaining 9 pieces,Air Jordan 12 Original Taxi.
Placing and Pinning
Once you have all ten pieces of wool cut to the exact same size, lay 9 of them out in a 3-piece wide x 3 piece tall rectangle to decide which pieces you want where in your quilt. It's nice to disperse the darker colors around the quilt,Air Jordan 3 Black Cement. The tenth piece will form the pocket that holds the quillow, so set this piece aside.
Separate your layout into three 12.5-inch wide strips of three pieces each (so that you'll be pinning along the short sides for each strip).
Pin together each strip as follows:
Pin along the short sides
Overlap the pieces by a half inch
Use ample pins since the fabric stretches as you are sewing
To create less bulk when sewing, overlap pieces in the three strips as shown in the photo above:
On left and right hand strips, overlap the pieces so that the top piece is under the piece below.
On the center strip, overlap the pieces so that the top piece covers the piece below it.
Line up the three strips that you've sewn together so that everything creates a grid. Overlap the three strips with each other by a half inch,Obsidian 12s. Overlap the left and right strips over the middle strip as shown above.
